Hi, I’m Ashani Linghanathan. I’m one of the first faces you’ll see when you arrive at Life Collective Counselling, and part of my role is to make sure your experience here begins with a sense of ease and attentiveness.

With a background in psychology and a long-standing curiosity about people and how they work, I’ve always found meaning in the small details, like remembering a name, picking up on someone’s tone, or making sure the little things are taken care of so clients can focus on what they came here for.

My experience in peer support, along with various volunteering opportunities in the community, has allowed me to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds. These experiences have taught me how meaningful it can be to simply show up for someone, to listen closely, and to create a space where people feel seen and respected.

I moved to Canada from Sri Lanka and have slowly built a life that feels like mine, step by step. Becoming part of Life Collective has been one of those steps; it’s a place where I get to connect with people every day and contribute to an environment that’s thoughtful, calm, and welcoming.

If I can help make someone’s day feel just a little more supported or less stressful, I know I’ve done my part.
